Citizen - Demo 2009

Pop-Punk/Hardcore from the Michigan-Ohio Area.
A couple of the songs have no lyrics and those are the better ones in my opinion. "Hell or High Water" is bad ass.

MLB 2K9 Review

I want to do a review of a game I have been playing since it came out, and I have people who would like to know more about it.

Cover Athlete- Tim Lincecum is a god amongst men. Great choice by 2K.

Hitting- The hitting is very easy to do. It uses the right stick and you pull back to load up and then you simply push it forward. I'm pretty sure that you can aim your shot as well, i.e., go with the pitch. Some games I do really well hitting and others not so much, but hey, that's real.

Pitching- The pitching is a little different from last year's and years past, this was a change for the better. It's easier to throw a lot of the pitches, like the cut fastball and a 2-seamer. Plus, you don't give up a homer everytime you throw the down and away slider on the higher difficulties like you did in the games of the past. The stamina of pitchers seems to be a little more true-to-life as well, you don't see pitchers dying in the third inning as you did last year.

Fielding- The fielding is...a little shaky I guess. I, for the most part, have no problems but every now and again, I'll run my outfielder over to get a fly ball and he'll just stand there and let it drop. This usually happens when the bases our loaded and I have 2 outs and I need the out to keep my lead. That's just my luck, but I have no other choice than to quit out, because that's awful. There have been a few other times when I fielded a routine grounder, threw to first, and presumed that he was out. Then, I realize he's still on first and wasn't out for whatever reason.

Graphics- I really like the way the game looks. The jerseys are pretty nice looking, other than the Brewers Friday night home game retro jerseys. They are completely wrong. Player models are solid, but they don't have a model for everyone.

Overall- The game overall is pretty good, I would say it's worth it. Especially for baseball fans with an Xbox 360, because it's our only option. Outside of the B.S. that occurs every now and then with fielding it's very good. I'll give it a 4 out of 5.

Bangarang!

I'm listening to this band called Bangarang! right now. They hail from the Philadelphia, PA area. They sound like Blink 182 meets New Found Glory and they have some breakdowns. This band is really good. It's unfortunate that I didn't find out about them before they broke up, so obviously I haven't seen them live. They have a full-length album and a split with The Wonder Years.

My Favorite Track: I think my favorite song by Bangarang! is "My Promise." It's off of their full-length album "Frozen Over, First In Line."
Here's a sample of their shit:

Maylene & The Sons of Disaster

Maylene & The Sons of Disaster or, more simply, Maylene, is a southern metal band that is based in Birmingham, Alabama. They are fronted by Dallas Taylor, the former frontman of Underoath. Their songs are so awesome. They are so bad ass. His vocals fit the music pretty well. They have two full-length albums available. The first is a self-titled album and the second is simply called "II." I've have yet to get out and see them live, but it's on my list of things to do.

My Favorite Track: I'm not gonna lie, "Dry The River" is for sure my favorite song by Maylene. It's off of "II."

On Tour: They're going on tour with Clutch starting on May 6th.

Here's some of their work: Everyone in the band is haggard as death.

The Response

Couldn't find an image of The Response. You're more than welcome to look!

I am listening to The Response right this second. This band comes from Milwaukee. They have played a few times in my hometown of Wausau, WI, and that's how I discovered them. They were playing with another local band named Windsor Drive, and I have been in love ever since. They have some really good, fast, catchy songs and a couple ballads in there as well. As far as a live show, they are phenomenal.

My Favorite Track: I'd have to say that the "Until Then" by The Response is one of my favorite songs. It's off their first EP entitled "The Six."

Live Performance (__ out of 5): I have to give it a 5 out of 5. It's a high energy show but the songs are spot-on to the recordings. They are usually at Summerfest, so see them there.

A sample of their work: This is their only video. The song is terrific.
